Nike Hyperdunk

Light makes flight. Jump higher. Cut sharper. React faster. Be more explosive. Flywire technology in the Nike Hyperdunk basketball shoes provides the ultimate strength and support while eliminating excess weight. Lunar Foam, a material developed by NASA, is used in the sole to give the shoe excellent shock absorption and a great feel with minimal weight during your long flights. The upper features lightweight Nike Flyfit tensile fibers for outstanding support. Full-length Phylon midsole with Zoom Air unit in the heel and Lunar Foam in the forefoot. Midfoot wedge provides lateral support. Solid rubber outsole with herringbone traction pattern for outstanding grip.
The Hyperdunk utilizes innovative technologies such as Flywire and LunarLite Foam to provide you with Nike's strongest and lightest basketball shoe to date. Imagine an upper that uses slender, but amazingly strong treads encased in a thin membrane with a fabric backing for support? This is Flywire. Flywire technology uses high-strength threads that work like cables on a suspension bridge and places them between two layers of TPU. Biomechanics at the Nike Sports Research Lab (NSRL) developed a Flywire pattern for the Nike Hyperdunk that works like an extra ligament facilitating movement and creating lateral stability. The result is a basketball shoe that is extremely light, strong and secure, giving you revolutionary performance unseen in footwear. LunarLite Foam, located in the forefoot of the Hyperdunk, has been in development for more than four years. This super soft material uses a unique cell structure to spread out force more evenly over a larger area, reducing peak pressures on the foot. Nike wear-testers reported feeling more energy after long runs and wanted to stockpile additional pairs. The Hyperdunk also adds a Phylon midsole and Zoom Air heel unit to provide the maximum comfort and support demanded by the world's top athletes. A solid rubber outsole has a herringbone traction tread pattern that is designed for ultimate performance on the court.
Nike introduced a new colorway to the Nike Hyperdunk basketball shoes line on July 7th, 2008. This limited edition color; known as the 2015 Hyperdunk, is the inspiration to the Hyperdunk line. A popular 1980's movie featured a pair of Nike shoes from the fictional year of 2015. This movie prototype was this original concept used by Nike designer Eric Avar, when designing the Nike Hyperdunk. The 2015 Hyperdunk has a striking resemblance to the shoe featured in the movie. It does not have power laces but the colors and key features of the shoe are uniquely similar. Technologies such as Flywire and LunarLite Foam are a staple of the Hyperdunk line and continue to make the Hyperdunk the most innovative and technically advanced basketball shoe in the Nike line.
